Yesterday was interesting.

I had an awful day at work. We got busy in the pharmacy, and both me and Mr. Spellman were making mistakes. I had a continuing education lesson that said that doing more than 7 prescriptions an hour dramatically increases the likelihood that pharmacist will make a mistake. We did about twelve prescriptions in ten-fifteen minutes, plus adding in new insurance cards and stuff. It was crazy.

Then I went to Friday Night Magic. They had held up the draft for me, which was nice. They aren't DCI sanctioned, so for prizes everyone buys an extra pack and they divide them up among top four.

I drafted red/black spirits, including a foil Glitterfang and two non foil ones, which won the first match for me 2-0. Since there were only eight people, I was in the top four. The second guy beat me 2-0, which was fine. So I got a Betrayers pack and two rares, and then Whit and Scalper gave me all their cards because they have them already.

This guy named Alex was there, he was kinda shocked that I remembered his name and embarassed that he couldn't remember mine apart from that it started with an A. He's a big guy, shorter than me with a round belly, blond hair and beard, and glasses. Last night he was carting around a graphing calculator that he'd converted into a Magic Life Counter, including a thing to put on poison counters, and I oohed and ahhed over it. The first guy I played were laughing about how it's such a geek thing, and I'm like yeah, I'm a total geek too.

Alex asked me if I was going to be at the B&N Harry Potter party, and I said I'd try to make it, but I was going with my family so I didn't know if I could. He waited around just to walk me out, which I thought was nice, but he ended up staying to talk as I left.

Whit followed me out, and walked me to the exit. Whit is this skinny guy, about my height, no hair but a blondish beard, very easy going. He said, "So, would you like to go out sometime?"

Eep. I told him I was flattered, but it was a definite NO. He said it was cool, and he'd see me next week.

Weird.

My family then went to the 10 o'clock showing of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which was an excellent movie. I want to go back and read the book again. I love Johnny Depp. I'm more in love with JD every time I see him. There's a movie, I forget what it's called, where he plays a dad whose daughter is being held hostage until he agrees to kill someone, it's awesome.

Then they went to Borders for a Harry Potter party. I left early to try to catch Alex and the Barnes and Nobles party, but he wasn't there, so ah well.

All in all, a mixed day. I ended up getting to sleep around 2:30 a.m.

Today I woke up around 10, bummed around sorting my cards from last night, and watching Death to Smoochy with my parents. This was the TV edited version, so it was a lot cleaner but a lot less funny. Ah well.

I go back to 4 hour shifts next week! YAY!
